How to Make a Delicious, Budget Brunch
The next time you have a brunch planned with friends, use this simple and affordable recipe to get the most out of your time.
Heat two cups of milk to 95 Fahrenheit and add four tablespoons of granulated sugar and three tablespoons of yeast. Stir them together and let the mixture sit until it becomes frothy.
Next, take four cups of bread flour and add two tablespoons of sea salt, one egg, and the frothy mixture. Add a quarter cup of unsalted softened butter and mix in the dough until it’s smooth.
Put the dough on a flat surface and fold it in with some flour. Then put the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it sit until it rises. After an hour, plop the dough on a floured surface, cut it into 15 pieces, and roll it into balls. Let the balls sit for 10 minutes in a floured and covered tray.
To cook, take each dough ball and dust it with cornmeal before placing it on a pan with heated oil. Once done, place all the pieces of dough on a tray and let them bake in an oven at 350 degrees. Finally, let them cool on a wire rack.
